&lt;p style="margin:0;"&gt;The Russian Academy of Science has chosen Zecotek Photonics&amp;#39; green fibre laser as the main source for Raman spectrometers in solid-state research.&lt;span&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Zecotek&amp;#39;s GFL 550 will also be used for confocal microscopy and in a variety of other roles as the academy continues its programme of biomedical research.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Dr AD Zerrouk, chairman, president and chief executive officer of Zecotek, said the firm&amp;#39;s lasers represent an important new tool in biomedical instrumentation and flow cytometry.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&amp;quot;Our green fibre laser allows for arbitrary wavelengths in the green spectrum with significantly improved sensitivity of detection, and it is better suited to a wider range of preferred biological markers,&amp;quot; he commented.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;The lasers are available in a range of operating wavelengths and feature tuneability greater than 10 nm, as well as multi-wavelength and narrow-band options.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Zecotek recently received its fourth payment from the Government of Singapore&amp;#39;s Economic Development Board, covering a portion of the firm&amp;#39;s research and development costs.&lt;a href="http://feeds.directnews.co.uk/feedtrack/justcopyright.gif?feedid=1785&amp;amp;itemid=19293923"&gt;&lt;img alt="ADNFCR-1785-ID-19293923-ADNFCR" src="http://feeds.directnews.co.uk/feedtrack/justcopyright.gif?feedid=1785&amp;amp;itemid=19293923" /&gt;&lt;/a&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;div style="clear:both;"&gt;&lt;/div&gt;
