Semiconductor firm Analog Devices is expanding its iSensor intelligent sensor line of products with the introduction of two new highly-integrated inertial sensors.

The programmable ADIS16240 impact sensor delivers superior power efficiency and user configurability in embedded applications, while it also detects and stores critical events for later analysis.

Meanwhile, the ADIS16220 digital vibration sensor gives designers the ability to automatically capture profiles of subtle vibration shifts in machine performance and other industrial applications.

Together the sensors allow high-performance shock and vibration sensing in a variety of environments, according to Analog Devices' business development manager Bob Scannell.

"By combining full programmability with performance, size and power advantages, ADI's ADIS16240 and ADIS16220 can be adapted easily into many different operating scenarios," he commented.

Analog Devices recently unveiled the ADA4051-2, a new dual-channel, ultra low-power zero-drift operational amplifier that uses 30 per cent less power than other similar products on the market.
