Cement production 'protected by motion sensors'

One company has decided to install Siemens motion sensors on its cement filter collectors as a method of monitoring the operation of the screw conveyor. A leading cement producer in the United Arab Emirates (UAE), the firm employed the Milltronics MFA 4p motion sensor, a highly-sensitive single set point system which is used with remote sensing probes. One unusual feature of the sensor is its adjustable zero to 60-second time delay, which allows the monitored device - in this case the screw conveyor - to accelerate to normal running speed before monitoring begins. The single set point system is said to be very appropriate for cement industry applications as it can be easily retrofitted to existing equipment using Form C contacts from one or both of the relays.
