A new Simple Proto assembly service introduced by Screaming Circuits accepts designs with Surface-mount Technology (SMT) passives 0402 or larger. It can also be used for other less complex product creations with through-hole components and SMT chips with greater then 20 mil pin pitch. The low-cost service aims to fulfil the needs of customers undertaking through-hole to SMT conversions, as well as entrepreneurs who are building their first enterprises and people who have simple board layout requirements and low volume needs, such as those undertaking the work for recreational purposes. Company marketing manager Duane Benson said that the firm's latest offering is part of its dedication to addressing different market needs with a variety of service options. "We've always supported customers with complex assembly applications, but now we are also offering lower-cost options for customers who have smaller projects using less advanced technologies," he stated.
