Product manufacturer Diodes is set to launch a line of Low Drop Out (LDO) linear regulators that drive low equivalent series resistance (ESR) 1uF Multilayer Ceramic Chip Capacitors (MLCCs).

The range is designed to reduce system-level manufacturing costs and enhance control loop stability and transient response.

Maintaining consistent regulation for variations in specified temperature, line voltage and load conditions is possible due to the LDOs' two per cent output accuracy.

The products may be used in wireless LAN cards, XDSL routers, mouse and keyboard products, desktop and notebook computers and battery powered equipment and they are also rated for full industrial temperature range operation from minus 40 degrees C to 85 degrees C.

In related news, Dutch company AVX recently launched a new range of high-ripple, low-inductance capacitors said to be ideal in applications where standard devices typically fail.

The rugged FFVS Series capacitors are claimed to feature high-frequency operation with less stray inductance than other products.
