Networkfleet sensors 'help fleet managers improve efficiency'

New sensors from Networkfleet provide fleet managers with information they can use to improve efficiency, according to the firm.

Company president Keith Schneider said that sensors are an extension of the business' advanced diagnostic capabilities, which also help such managers reduce their operating costs.

"At Networkfleet, we continue to expand the functionality of our fleet application based on feedback from our large customer base," stated Mr Schneider.

His comments follow the launch of a new product consisting of a sensor expansion module hardware device combined with software reporting, which detects voltage events from vehicles.

These include Power Take Off engagement and disengagement, secondary engine on/off and door open/close.

Towing companies might implement the sensor to track the times and locations from which vehicles are towed, while utility firms could trace boom usage in the field.

In related news, Microchip Technology recently launched its new MCP9804 Temperature Sensor which could also be useful for a variety of commercial and government fleets.
