Spectrum Control introduces new audio capacitors

A new waterproof design has been added by Spectrum Control to its standard MIL-DTL-55116 capacitive filtered audio connectors.

Offering electrostatic discharge protection of up to eight kV direct discharge and 15 kV air discharge, the connectors are available in C and Pi circuit configurations.

As well as being waterproof, the new additions are polarised and are offered in plugs and receptacles.

Spectrum states that all of the requirements of MIL-STD-810F are met by the new products, including sand, dust, salt, fog, high altitude operation, resistance to fungus and immersion of up to 20 metres.

Other discharge requirements and custom designs are also available.

"These EMI filtered/ESD protected connectors are designed for aviation, communication and security applications where an electronic system using the audio connector might be exposed to ESD environments," the company states.
