&lt;span&gt;Altair Semiconductor has announced the launch of its FourGee LTE USB ExpressCard UE.&lt;/span&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;span&gt;According to the company, which manufactures mobile semiconductors for mobile equipment, this is the first LTE Category 3 ExpressCard in the industry and can support download speeds of 100 Mbps.&lt;/span&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;span&gt;It can also cope with upload speeds of 50 Mbps.&lt;/span&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;span&gt;Due its early availability, the device will allow system vendors, terminal manufacturers and carriers to use small form UEs for FourGee product development and trials.&lt;/span&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;span&gt;Oded Melamed, co-founder and chief executive officer of Altair Semiconductor, said: &amp;amp;quot;In the coming months, we will continue to develop and deliver effective and power efficient 4G chipsets and software to device makers and carriers around the world.&amp;amp;quot;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;span&gt;In related news, Cadence Design Systems recently revealed that it will be delivering a new low-power flow which could help to improve the speed in which semiconductors are manufactured.&lt;/span&gt;&lt;a href="http://feeds.directnews.co.uk/feedtrack/justcopyright.gif?feedid=1785&amp;amp;itemid=19445099"&gt;&lt;img alt="ADNFCR-1785-ID-19445099-ADNFCR" src="http://feeds.directnews.co.uk/feedtrack/justcopyright.gif?feedid=1785&amp;amp;itemid=19445099" /&gt;&lt;/a&gt;&lt;div style="clear:both;"&gt;&lt;/div&gt;
