Dongle connects to devices 'quickly and easily'

It has been asserted that Saelig's IOW24-DG dongle can be used to quickly and easily connect I2C devices via a USB port.

According to Test & Measurement World, internal pull-up resistors can be switched off under software control, which allows compatibility with 3.3-V slaves.

The dongle comprises of a tested PC board, a four-wire cable  which can be soldering to the dongle PC board to create flexible pinouts to fit different applications - and a two-part snap-fit dongle case.

This PC board "has solder pads for pull-up resistors and protection diodes to 3.3 V", the news provider notes.

Small external circuits can be powered by both 3.3-V and 5-V outputs and a special mode to communicate with Sensirion humidity sensors is also available.

Earlier this month, it was reported by Jacksonville.com that scientists at the University of North Florida have developed a new range of sensors that can detect the presence of substances, gases and bacteria.
