The RNCP Series thin film resistor unveiled by Stackpole Electronics incorporates anti-sulphur techniques and high-power handling, according to the company.

It is suitable for mobile phone base stations, high speed data interface and amplifier circuit applications, as well as networking equipment.

Kory Schroeder, director of marketing at Stackpole, pointed out that by eliminating gold and silver, the product's operating life is extended, which he claimed can be critical for many products.

He added: "Developed utilising thin film technology and sulphur-resistant materials, the RNCP Series resistors offer highly reliable, high-performance resistors in a small package at a low cost."

The company stated that the product is ideal for telecommunications applications, since it offers high accuracy and twice the power normally produced from conventional thick film items.

Recently, DIGITIMES reported that Taiwan-based resistor-makers are seeing high utilisation rates at the moment, which the news provider predicted could continue into the first quarter of 2010.
