&lt;span&gt;A market research firm has predicted that shipments of LED-backlit liquid crystal display (LCD) TVs could grow significantly during 2010.&lt;/span&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;span&gt;Displaybank has published a forecast which estimates that the market for LED LCD TVs could grow from 3.1 million units in 2009 to 26 million in the coming year.&lt;/span&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;span&gt;It suggested that this could give the type of product 16 per cent of the LCD TV sector, with further growth predicted in years to come.&lt;/span&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;span&gt;Andy Yu, vice-president of display research at the company, pointed out that the items feature eco-friendly factors and developments in quality and design as a result of the use of LEDs.&lt;/span&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;span&gt;He added: &amp;amp;quot;LCD TV has continuously expanded its market share with rapid technological development in very short period of time.&amp;amp;quot;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;span&gt;Displaybank estimated that LED LCD TVs could reach 129 million units by 2013.&lt;/span&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;span&gt;In other LED news, Seoul Semiconductors has announced that its bulbs are being used on the Oasis of the Seas - the biggest cruise ship in the world, according to eTravel Blackboard.&lt;/span&gt;&lt;a href="http://feeds.directnews.co.uk/feedtrack/justcopyright.gif?feedid=1785&amp;amp;itemid=19525440"&gt;&lt;img alt="ADNFCR-1785-ID-19525440-ADNFCR" src="http://feeds.directnews.co.uk/feedtrack/justcopyright.gif?feedid=1785&amp;amp;itemid=19525440" /&gt;&lt;/a&gt;&lt;div style="clear:both;"&gt;&lt;/div&gt;
