New optoelectronics devices from Avago Technologies provide up to 150 Gbps bandwidth on aggregate, with the company claiming that they eclipse the barriers that were previously in place.

The optical transmitters and receiver modules used in the MicroPOD portfolio promise to enable versatile design solutions for companies, thanks to their compliance with IEEE 802.3ba 100GBASE-SR10 specifications.

Also compliant with IBTA 12xQDR Infiniband infrastructure, the 12-channel optoelectronics modules offer bandwidth of 12.5 Gbps per channel, reaching the aggregate figure of 150 Gbps.
