Californian company Mindspeed Technologies is demonstrating its latest optoelectronics products at this year's OFC Conference in San Diego.

Alongside more than 500 international exhibitors, Mindspeed will be showcasing its family of fibre-optic components including its M02098 programmable burst-mode laser driver and its Common Public Radio Interface (CPRI) optical physical media device chipset.

The M02098 consists of an analogue-to-digital converter and a digital-to-analogue converter and is part of Mindspeed's evolving group of physical media devices (PMDs).

Building on the M02090, its predecessor, Mindspeed's latest burst-mode laser driver uses dual closed-loop Eye Minder technology.

The company believes it will help lower overall optical network terminal system costs for its users.

Mindspeed's CPRI optical PMD chipset is optimised for use with 4.915 Gbps and 6.144 Gbps systems, but with a reduced power consumption compared to the 10 Gbps PMDs.

The latest in Mindspeed's developments of PMDs, it is compatible with the CPRI V4.1 specification released in 2009.

Both of these and more devices from the Mindspeed camp can be seen at OFC until Thursday March 25th.
