&lt;span&gt;A Taiwanese company is ready to accelerate its shipments of polymer aluminium electrolytic capacitors (SP-Caps) by 25 per cent during the second quarter of 2010, according to its chairman.&lt;/span&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;span&gt; &lt;/span&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;span&gt;Passive component distributor Podak is responding to demand flat panels, notebook computers and motherboards.&lt;/span&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;span&gt; &lt;/span&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;span&gt;As a consequence, shipments of S-Caps will increase from 30 million to 40 million units over the next three months.&lt;/span&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;span&gt; &lt;/span&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;span&gt;The company is aggressively expanding its capacitor shipment after it reported an increase in monthly revenue of 13.3 per cent after it generated NT238 million (£4.9 million) and NT700 million for the first quarter of this year, Digitimes reports.&lt;/span&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;span&gt; &lt;/span&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;span&gt;SP-Caps currently account for around 60 per cent of the firm&amp;#39;s total revenues.&lt;/span&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;span&gt; &lt;/span&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;span&gt;Elsewhere, a report on the ceramic capacitor industry revealed that producers are spending more on research and development.&lt;/span&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;span&gt; &lt;/span&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;span&gt;According to the Ceramic Capacitors World Review, manufacturers are eager to find alternative dieletrics such as aluminium and tantalum.&lt;/span&gt;&lt;a href="http://feeds.directnews.co.uk/feedtrack/justcopyright.gif?feedid=1785&amp;amp;itemid=19716630"&gt;&lt;img alt="ADNFCR-1785-ID-19716630-ADNFCR" src="http://feeds.directnews.co.uk/feedtrack/justcopyright.gif?feedid=1785&amp;amp;itemid=19716630" /&gt;&lt;/a&gt;&lt;div style="clear:both;"&gt;&lt;/div&gt;
