A global manufacturer of x-ray metrology kits has received multiple orders for its system for use in the production of high-brightness LEDs (HB-LEDs).

Jordan Valley Semiconductors, which has operations in Europe, North America and Asia as well as its headquarters in Israel, announced orders from several firms including chip maker CanYang Optoelectronics.

The kits are "designed and optimised to provide best cost/performance quality control systems" for HB-LEDs.

Chief executive Isaac Mazor said the order from an organisation of the magnitude of CanYang justified Jordan Valley's decision to buyout Bede Scientific Instruments in November 2008.

Mr Mazor believes in the quality of the QC3 system, which has proved popular with chip makers and said the company had "vastly improved the speed and effectiveness of this metrology tool".

The QC3 features fast reciprocal mapping and "full robot automation" and is said to be the cost efficient system in the market.
