&lt;span&gt;A global manufacturer has unveiled a new product that using light-emitting diodes (LEDs), that can replace glass neon in signage.&lt;/span&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;span&gt;Neo-Neon International&amp;#39;s LED Neon Flex 360 is engineered to imitate the effect of its predecessor in terms of its &amp;amp;quot;lighting effect&amp;amp;quot; and can emulate its brightness, Construction Week reports.&lt;/span&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;span&gt;By comparison to the diode-based technology, the fragility of glass neon means it can easily be damaged while being delivered to a client, whereas the makers claim the new product is almost indestructible.&lt;/span&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;span&gt;In addition, the publication noted that the older signage technology requires a greater deal of power to function and can be labour-intensive given the &amp;amp;quot;made-to-order&amp;amp;quot; designs as well as needing specialist installation, with the whole process often taking up to a month.&lt;/span&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;span&gt;Akira Saito, general manager of the company&amp;#39;s Middle East regional office, said the latest innovation &amp;amp;quot;greatly enhances the range and scope of applications of our product line&amp;amp;quot;.&lt;/span&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;span&gt;Neo-Neon was founded in Taiwan in 1968 and claims to sell the majority of the world&amp;#39;s Christmas lighting.&lt;/span&gt;&lt;a href="http://feeds.directnews.co.uk/feedtrack/justcopyright.gif?feedid=1785&amp;amp;itemid=19782060"&gt;&lt;img alt="ADNFCR-1785-ID-19782060-ADNFCR" src="http://feeds.directnews.co.uk/feedtrack/justcopyright.gif?feedid=1785&amp;amp;itemid=19782060" /&gt;&lt;/a&gt;&lt;div style="clear:both;"&gt;&lt;/div&gt;
