&lt;span&gt;Optoelectronics firms in Taiwan, which make LCD panels, managed to achieve consolidated sales revenue totalling more than $3.25 billion (£2.25 billion) month-on-month for April, according to the latest figures.&lt;/span&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;span&gt;Data from Witsview Technology revealed an increase of 213.9 per cent on the same stage last year, Taiwan Economic News reports&lt;/span&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;span&gt;Of the country&amp;#39;s four major panel makers, which supply a number of consumer electronics including laptops and smartphones, the recently merged Chimei Innolux enjoyed the largest revenue increase of 30.1 per cent through April, reaching $1.56 billion.&lt;/span&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;span&gt;AU Optoelectronics (AUO) also saw a monthly rise of 1.2 per cent and generated $1.29 billion.&lt;/span&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;span&gt;AUO itself was formed as the result of a merger between Acer Display Technology and Unipac Optoelectronics in October 2001.&lt;/span&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;span&gt;It currently employs more than 42,000 people and produces TFT-LCD modules, &amp;amp;quot;TV star solutions&amp;amp;quot; that can range in size from 19 inches to 52-inch panels ans solar photovolataic cells, which are more often used in the latest renewable energy technology.&lt;/span&gt;&lt;a href="http://feeds.directnews.co.uk/feedtrack/justcopyright.gif?feedid=1785&amp;amp;itemid=19796898"&gt;&lt;img alt="ADNFCR-1785-ID-19796898-ADNFCR" src="http://feeds.directnews.co.uk/feedtrack/justcopyright.gif?feedid=1785&amp;amp;itemid=19796898" /&gt;&lt;/a&gt;&lt;div style="clear:both;"&gt;&lt;/div&gt;
