&lt;span&gt;A US producer of semiconductor technologies has unveiled a new power amplifier which has been optimised for WiMAX systems.&lt;/span&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;span&gt;North Carolina-based Radio Frequency Micro Devices (RFMD) announced the availability of the RF5633, which the manufacturer suggests can be incorporated into the designs for numerous applications including wireless infrastructure and WiFi-based high definition interfaces for video distribution networks.&lt;/span&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;span&gt;The power amplifier features a power detector into its &amp;amp;quot;industry-leading&amp;amp;quot; 4 mm by 4 mm quad flat no-leads package and the company stated that this minimises &amp;amp;quot;design-in footprint requirements&amp;amp;quot; for electronics manufacturers looking to use the component.&lt;/span&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;span&gt;RFMD said the RF5633 can maintain &amp;amp;quot;linearity over a wide range of temperatures and power outputs&amp;amp;quot; and its external match allows tuning for output power &amp;amp;quot;over multiple bands&amp;amp;quot;.&lt;/span&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;span&gt;The firm specialises in the manufacture of high-performance radio frequency equipment as well as semiconductor technologies and looks to provide &amp;amp;quot;enhanced connectivity&amp;amp;quot; and advanced functionality in mobile phone handsets. &lt;/span&gt;&lt;a href="http://feeds.directnews.co.uk/feedtrack/justcopyright.gif?feedid=1785&amp;amp;itemid=19805720"&gt;&lt;img alt="ADNFCR-1785-ID-19805720-ADNFCR" src="http://feeds.directnews.co.uk/feedtrack/justcopyright.gif?feedid=1785&amp;amp;itemid=19805720" /&gt;&lt;/a&gt;&lt;div style="clear:both;"&gt;&lt;/div&gt;
