Smart sensor plays part in computer navigation and security

A global computer manufacturer has revealed that its latest offering to consumers includes a smart sensor for both navigation and security.

Fujitsu's new HD resolution entertainment notebook called the NW/G90T offers users visual feedback and finger print authentication thanks to its 192-pixel wide sensor, which is installed under the appliance's trackpad, Azo Sensors reports.

Furthermore, it is said to offer extended biometric performance as well as low power consumption, improved functionality and a reduced bill in terms of expense spared for materials used in the production of PC peripherals and consumer laptops.

It also offers potential owners an integrated Blu-ray player and digital TV tuner along with an Intel core processor.

Fujitsu is one of the world's top five providers of servers and employs 170,000 employees, with a customer client base stretching across 70 countries.

The Tokyo-based organisation reported consolidated revenues for the financial year to the end of March 2010 totalling $50 billion (£34.5 billion).
