&lt;span&gt;A California-based manufacturer has claimed that its latest LED drivers will achieve higher efficiency and can prolong the lifespan of batteries in consumer electronics appliances such as MP3 players and mobile handsets.&lt;/span&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;span&gt;Fairchild Semiconductor unveiled its FAN5701 and FAN5702 which features a low transition voltage mode that allows the components to operate using a lower rate of power consumption for a longer period of time.&lt;/span&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;span&gt;In addition, both new releases can be configured to support &amp;amp;quot;clamshell form factor&amp;amp;quot; mobile handsets that use main and secondary display screens.&lt;/span&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;span&gt;The FAN5702 is said to offer design flexibility for customers, enabling it to be incorporated into a range of lighting applications, while manufacturers of LCD displays can control LED outputs individually, depending on the requirements of the product it is being used in.&lt;/span&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;span&gt;As well as its range of diode-based applications, Fairchild also manufactures components for the automotive industry and parts used in the building of computers.&lt;/span&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;a href="http://feeds.directnews.co.uk/feedtrack/justcopyright.gif?feedid=1785&amp;amp;itemid=19817370"&gt;&lt;img alt="ADNFCR-1785-ID-19817370-ADNFCR" src="http://feeds.directnews.co.uk/feedtrack/justcopyright.gif?feedid=1785&amp;amp;itemid=19817370" /&gt;&lt;/a&gt;&lt;div style="clear:both;"&gt;&lt;/div&gt;
