LED light tubes 'are flexible and efficient'

Such is the "tremendous flexibility" in LED light tubes and the different types available that it can support a variety of luminaires, while offering low power consumption and high reliability.

That is the view of Mark Thorsell, product manager of Rotary Switches & LEDs and Justin Moll, marketing manager of Elma Electronic, who told readers of Design World how these diode-based innovations can also be aesthetically pleasing.

Furthermore, for its visual attraction and reliability, the experts stated that such lighting products will also have a long lifespan.

They said observers can often be confused at first glance and think it is merely another fluorescent luminaire tube, perhaps likening it to a laser beam or simply perceiving it to contain multiple LEDs rather than just one.

However, LEDs magazine pointed out this month that T8's own diode-based product has struggled to establish itself as an alternative to older offerings as it did not deliver sufficient light output.
