The year ahead is a bright one for power management semiconductors, according to technology industry analyst iSuppli.

New figures from the research firm anticipate that the growth rate in revenue will peak at almost 40 per cent in 2010.

It is expected to fall to around 13 per cent the following year and continue close to the ten per cent level thereafter.

While this is predicted to take the value of power management semiconductors beyond $40 billion (£25 billion) by 2014, it is the present year that stands alone in terms of growth.

The analyst adds that, if the increase of 39.9 per cent is achieved, it will more than reverse the decline seen during the turbulent global economies of 2009.

In a previous report, iSuppli forecasted steroidal growth in sales of semiconductors of all types in 2010, leading to a revenue increase prediction of 35.1 per cent across the board.
