Sonepar to distribute Solar semiconductors in Canada

Semiconductors for photovoltaic applications produced by Solar Semiconductors are to be distributed by Canadian firm Sonepar under a new agreement between the two companies.

David Rycroft, vice-president of Sonepar Canada, explains why the partnership suits his company's interest in the photovoltaic semiconductors market.

"We have been growing rapidly in the recent years in solar business and will continue that growth in the coming years," he predicts.

"It is essential for Sonepar that we have a stable supplier of high-quality modules."

He adds that the partnership is based in part on the close alignment between the two companies' growth plans and product road map.

Under the terms of the agreement, Canadian installers can expect to gain access to kits which meet the Ontario Domestic content requirement.

Solar Semiconductor employs more than 900 people and has manufacturing capacity of 195 MW at present accompanied by systems integration initiatives taking place around the world.
