&lt;span&gt;An expert has commented on the astounding rate of progress that has occurred in graphics semiconductors over the past 12 months.&lt;/span&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;span&gt;Bill Dally is chief scientist at NVIDIA, one of the leading brands in the development of graphics semiconductors for use in PC video cards.&lt;/span&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;span&gt;His comments come ahead of the upcoming NVIDIA Graphics Processing Unit (GPU) Technology Conference on September 22nd in San Jose, California.&lt;/span&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;span&gt;The conference is due to focus on the &amp;amp;quot;seismic shifts&amp;amp;quot; that have taken place in the industry in recent months.&lt;/span&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;span&gt;Mr Dally comments: &amp;amp;quot;Conference attendees will be astounded by the tremendous advances in GPU computing.&amp;amp;quot;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;span&gt;He adds that NVIDIA is pleased by the line-up of experts due to share their own insights in keynote speeches at the event.&lt;/span&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;span&gt;Among them are Stanford University robotics pioneer Sebastian Thrun and Klaus Schulten, one of the world&amp;amp;#39;s foremost computational biologists who works at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.&lt;/span&gt;&lt;a href="http://feeds.directnews.co.uk/feedtrack/justcopyright.gif?feedid=1785&amp;amp;itemid=800045571"&gt;&lt;img alt="ADNFCR-1785-ID-800045571-ADNFCR" src="http://feeds.directnews.co.uk/feedtrack/justcopyright.gif?feedid=1785&amp;amp;itemid=800045571" /&gt;&lt;/a&gt;&lt;div style="clear:both;"&gt;&lt;/div&gt;
