AST unveils new pressure sensor

The AST4000 pressure sensor has been unveiled by American Sensor Technologies (AST) for hydraulic pressure applications.

Azosensors reported that the product is of use in dampening pressure spikes and is made from a single, stainless-steel piece to ensure it functions under intense pressurised conditions and offers long-term stability and reliability.

The firm stated: "Commonly known as a 'snubbed', the restrictor plug brings down the systems overall cost, length, and prospective leak points."

The publication also recently revealed that North Atlantic Industries has unveiled a new Sensor Interface Unit (SIU) that can be used in data processing or control system applications.

Capable of working in the harshest of environments, the SIU is a "rugged, compact" embedded input/output device with an integrated power supply and COTS Multifunction I/O boards.
