European electronics market boost polymer blends demand

Growth in the market for electronic applications over the past few months has led to a recovery for polymer blends manufacturers.

That is according to new figures from analyst Frost & Sullivan, which show that a boost in demand for electronic housing and computer-related devices in eastern Europe could prove promising for the polymer blend industry.

The European Polymer Blends and Alloys Markets report predicted that 2009's 346 million (£283 million) revenue in 2009 will reach 453.00 million by 2016 due to positive moves in transportation, electronics, consumer goods, construction and industrial applications.

Aniruddh Menon, research analyst at the firm, said: "The electronic housing industry, including housing of IT-related products such as personal computers and laptops, will be the major growth driver for the polymer blends and alloys market in Europe."
