Growth in the market for electronic applications over the past few months has led to a recovery for polymer blends manufacturers.

That is according to new figures from analyst Frost & Sullivan, which show that a boost in demand for electronic housing and computer-related devices in eastern Europe could prove promising for the polymer blend industry.

The European Polymer Blends and Alloys Markets report predicted that 2009's €346 million (£283 million) revenue in 2009 will reach €453.00 million by 2016 due to positive moves in transportation, electronics, consumer goods, construction and industrial applications.

Aniruddh Menon, research analyst at the firm, said: "The electronic housing industry, including housing of IT-related products such as personal computers and laptops, will be the major growth driver for the polymer blends and alloys market in Europe."

Frost & Sullivan helps companies identify potential growth in markets around the globe and operates from over 40 offices worldwide.
