&lt;span&gt;A Californian company has agreed a partnership with a semiconductor manufacturer from Taiwan in order to meet its design needs and help in supporting new process features.&lt;/span&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;span&gt;mSilica, which makes LED driver integrated circuits for backlighting LCD TVs, notebook computers and solid-state lighting applications, is to team up with Vanguard International Semiconductor (VIS) to become one of its principal suppliers of wafer for its components.&lt;/span&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;span&gt;Dilip Sangam, co-founder and chief technical officer at mSilica, believes having a partner like VIS will assist the company in bringing state-of-the-art diode-based technology to its end market.&lt;/span&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;span&gt;&amp;amp;quot;We now have more than a dozen exciting products for LCD backlighting and intelligent solid-state lighting in mass production with leading LCD TV and monitor OEMs as well as industrial customers,&amp;amp;quot; he said.&lt;/span&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;span&gt;The US LED manufacturer was founded in 2006 and has so far raised $20 million (£13.2 million) from Silicon Valley investors and strategic clients.&lt;/span&gt;&lt;a href="http://feeds.directnews.co.uk/feedtrack/justcopyright.gif?feedid=1785&amp;amp;itemid=19887995"&gt;&lt;img alt="ADNFCR-1785-ID-19887995-ADNFCR" src="http://feeds.directnews.co.uk/feedtrack/justcopyright.gif?feedid=1785&amp;amp;itemid=19887995" /&gt;&lt;/a&gt;&lt;div style="clear:both;"&gt;&lt;/div&gt;
