&lt;span&gt;A US company has unveiled a new advanced load management switch providing a monolithic, one-chip solution to consumer product-makers faced by the challenge of needing to reduce in-rush current.&lt;/span&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;span&gt;California-based Fairchild Semiconductor, which creates components for items such as power supplies, mobile applications and lighting fixtures, released its FPF 1038 and FPF1039 parts.&lt;/span&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;span&gt;The company believes these will be useful to designers of electronics such as television set-top boxes, ultra-mobile PCs as well as eBooks and portable internet devices needing a switch that can cope with battery management and green energy issues for applications featuring high current loads.&lt;/span&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;span&gt;Furthermore, as a result of these innovations, the semiconductor manufacturer indicates it can avoid the possibility of voltage rails going out of regulation due to excessive droop in tolerances of discrete solutions using conventional Mosfet components.&lt;/span&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;span&gt;Fairchild also states that designers will need less board space and fewer part counts thanks to the integration of its functionality into one chip.&lt;/span&gt;&lt;a href="http://feeds.directnews.co.uk/feedtrack/justcopyright.gif?feedid=1785&amp;amp;itemid=19893714"&gt;&lt;img alt="ADNFCR-1785-ID-19893714-ADNFCR" src="http://feeds.directnews.co.uk/feedtrack/justcopyright.gif?feedid=1785&amp;amp;itemid=19893714" /&gt;&lt;/a&gt;&lt;div style="clear:both;"&gt;&lt;/div&gt;
