Integrated electrical and audio connectors 'make dock space-conscious'

Altec Lansing claims that its Octiv 102 iPod dock is ideal for space-conscious consumers thanks to its integrated electrical and audio connectors.

Simply docking an iPod or iPhone on to the device links the audio connectors and electrical connectors at once, allowing music to be played back while the media player's battery recharges.

An application installed on the dock itself allows it to function as an alarm clock, completing the threefold capabilities of the compact unit.

Manager for Altec Lansing in Europe, the Middle East and Africa Adrian Bedggood says: "Because the Octiv 102 functions as a dock, a charger and an alarm clock with the included app, it represents an amazing value."

He adds that this should be welcomed by people whose desire for a smaller physical footprint does not exceed their longing for good sound quality.

The device is partnered by the Octiv 202, which brings similar functionality but with the added benefit of being able to charge two devices at a time.
