Oversupply in the LCD panels market is predicted to ease in September, which could see renewed demand for display semiconductors from manufacturers.

According to iSuppli, many panel producers have already reduced their output, as well as lowering costs to help improve liquidity throughout the supply chain.

Retailers may be less able to cut their own charges passed on to consumers, due to cost pressures, which the analyst adds is subduing the market at present.

By the end of September, this is expected to have been resolved - at least in part - by the reduced production of panels.

Display semiconductors could see a fresh wave of demand as a result, as manufacturers begin to increase the size of their inventories once more.

The forecast follows previous research from iSuppli which noted an upward surge in LCD television pricing in the US in July, driven by technologies including three-dimensional broadcasting and screens backlit using LEDs.
