LEDs power Chinese street lighting

A street in Dongguan Songshan Lake, China, is now being lit using LUXEON Rebel LEDs as part of a 144-unit installation by Taiwanese firm Alliance Optotek (AOP).

LEDs form the core technology in the company's ARTEMIS series of street lighting solutions, with 24 of the semiconductor devices in each luminaire.

AOP produces different lighting solutions for different applications simply by changing the lens used to throw out the light.

Meanwhile, as well as being suitable for the Chinese market, its products can be created to the specifications necessary for installation in Europe or the US.

Lighting stands with the power-saving benefits of LEDs are available from the firm in heights ranging from three to ten metres.

This allows for them to be used in everything from parking illumination to main road lighting.

AOP also produces interior lighting solutions built around LEDs, with spotlights, ceiling downlighters and products specifically designed for use in office environments.
