Embedded processing demand 'is growing'

High-speed serial interfaces represent an opportunity for designers of embedded processing systems as demand for their products grows, says analyst Frost & Sullivan.

According to the research organisation, more people are looking to embedded processing to deliver applications for a variety of different end uses.

However, Jessy Cavazos, industry director for measurement and instrumentation at Frost & Sullivan, says designers are overlooking some features that could improve their products further.

"Current solutions in the market focus on single protocols or take too long to conduct tests and debug functions," the analyst says.

"Some new solutions and concepts in the industry address these challenges."

High-speed serial interfaces in particular are suggested to developers as potentially being "to their advantage".

The Measurement & Instrumentation group at Frost & Sullivan works to identify challenges, trends and areas of insight within the industry, in order to allow operators to prepare growth strategies for future success.
