&lt;span&gt;People all over the world are increasingly looking for the best wireless communications handsets, according to a report from ABI Research.&lt;/span&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;span&gt;The analyst explains that, despite perceptions in some parts that the market could be reaching a plateau, this is not the case.&lt;/span&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;span&gt;&amp;amp;quot;ABI Research estimates 390 million handsets and smartphones were shipped in Q4 2010, up 15.6 per cent year on year,&amp;amp;quot; says vice-president for forecasting Jake Saunders.&lt;/span&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;span&gt;Some wireless communications manufacturers have refocused their efforts specifically on the top end of the market, the organisation notes, leading them to seemingly abandon their attempts to claim a larger share of the sector as a whole.&lt;/span&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;span&gt;New introductions from developing economies like China and India are also predicted to play a role in the future of the industry as they bring on board low-cost handsets designed for the needs of their local populations.&lt;/span&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;span&gt;Along with Brazil and Russia, India and China are two of the four so-called BRIC nations which are currently leading global economic growth.&lt;/span&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;span&gt;Posted by Sagar Jethani&lt;/span&gt;&lt;a href="http://feeds.directnews.co.uk/feedtrack/justcopyright.gif?feedid=1785&amp;amp;itemid=800374480"&gt;&lt;img alt="ADNFCR-1785-ID-800374480-ADNFCR" src="http://feeds.directnews.co.uk/feedtrack/justcopyright.gif?feedid=1785&amp;amp;itemid=800374480" /&gt;&lt;/a&gt;&lt;div style="clear:both;"&gt;&lt;/div&gt;
