A British company has unveiled the first ever wireless communications device to be used on Facebook, smarthouse.com.au reports.

Targeted at 18-28-year-old social networkers, the phone has been developed by British company INQ Mobile in conjuction with the Facebook team.

The firm is set to release two new mobile phone designs to tap into the hugely popular social networking site.

The two new models, the INQ Cloud Touch and INQ Cloud Q, will run on Android.

It will introduce Facebook-friendly features which replace traditional applications on mobiles.

Furthermore, the phone also has four Facebook buttons - People, Events, Notifications and Places - dominating the home screen.

In addition, it has a single sign-in feature allowing users to access all of the Facebook features on their smartphone.

Meanwhile, new research from Gartner has found that consumers in the US are more likely to buy a smartphone, a relatively new wireless communications device, than any other electronic gadget this year.

Indeed, Gartner said that consumers are more likely to buy a smartphone in 2011 than a personal computer, a basic mobile phone, an electronic book reader, a tablet computer or gaming products.
