Fujitsu and ARM have signed an agreement to allow Fujitsu to offer platforms featuring the latest ARM technology, it has been confirmed.

This agreement means that Fujitsu will offer platforms including the Cortex-A15 processor, Mali graphics and CoreLink systems IP.

The firms have been collaborating for more than a decade.

However, the new agreement is set to enhance and deepen the companies' partnership.

To this end, Fujitsu will provide its customers with cutting-edge ARM technology at an early stage as it develops new products in a bid to accelerate its customers' product development.

Meanwhile, new research has found that Western wireless firms are making inroads into the Japanese mobile market.

According to comScore, Microsoft, Google, Apple, RIM or Palm devices rose by 33.5 per cent between September and December 2010.

The firms are therefore able to reach 6.9 per cent of the total mobile audience - just under seven million people.
