&lt;span&gt;ON Semiconductor intends to spend $30 million to upgrade and expand its Oregon computer chip factory.&lt;/span&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;span&gt; &lt;/span&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;span&gt; Indeed, the firm plans to add up to 70 jobs to its operation in Gresham.&lt;/span&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;span&gt; &lt;/span&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;span&gt; According to a report appearing in the Oregonian, the expansion is part of a $250 million investment by the Arizona company to improve its manufacturing capabilities.&lt;/span&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;span&gt; &lt;/span&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;span&gt; Earlier this week, ON Semiconductor completed the acquisition of California-based Cypress Semiconductor Corp&amp;amp;#39;s image-sensor business.&lt;/span&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;span&gt; &lt;/span&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;span&gt; Phoenix-based ON has therefore become one of the top ten image-sensor suppliers worldwide, AZ Central reports.&lt;/span&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;span&gt; &lt;/span&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;span&gt; The companies first announced the all-cash deal at the end of January.&lt;/span&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;span&gt; &lt;/span&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;span&gt; ON Semiconductor also recently announced the appointment of Hans Stork to the position of chief technology officer and senior vice president.&lt;/span&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;span&gt; &lt;/span&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;span&gt; The supplier of high performance silicon solutions for energy efficient electronics said that it will focus its organic research and development and technical innovation to further expand the company&amp;amp;#39;s energy efficient product and solution offerings in key market segments.&lt;/span&gt;&lt;a href="http://feeds.directnews.co.uk/feedtrack/justcopyright.gif?feedid=1785&amp;amp;itemid=800437447"&gt;&lt;img alt="ADNFCR-1785-ID-800437447-ADNFCR" src="http://feeds.directnews.co.uk/feedtrack/justcopyright.gif?feedid=1785&amp;amp;itemid=800437447" /&gt;&lt;/a&gt;&lt;div style="clear:both;"&gt;&lt;/div&gt;
