&lt;span&gt;Diodes Inc, a semiconductor components maker, has confirmed that its first-quarter net income rose thanks to higher revenue on market share gains in tablets, notebooks, smartphones and televisions that utilise LEDs.&lt;/span&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;span&gt;According to the firm, net income in the three months to March 31 grew 32 per cent to $19.7 million, from $15 million a year ago, ABC News has reported.&lt;/span&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;span&gt;Revenue increased 18 per cent to $161.6 million from $136.8 million, the firm confirmed, adding that it expects to see revenue of $170 million to $178 million for the second quarter.&lt;/span&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;span&gt;This is above the $168 million expected by analysts.&lt;/span&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;span&gt;In other industry news, Fairchild Semiconductor, a leading global supplier of high performance power and mobile products, has announced the appointment of Terry Klebe to the company&amp;amp;#39;s board of directors.&lt;/span&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;span&gt;He was senior vice president and chief financial officer of Cooper Industries plc from 2002 until announcing his retirement in February 2010.&lt;/span&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;span&gt;Posted by Simon Jones&lt;/span&gt;&lt;a href="http://feeds.directnews.co.uk/feedtrack/justcopyright.gif?feedid=1785&amp;amp;itemid=800526885"&gt;&lt;img alt="ADNFCR-1785-ID-800526885-ADNFCR" src="http://feeds.directnews.co.uk/feedtrack/justcopyright.gif?feedid=1785&amp;amp;itemid=800526885" /&gt;&lt;/a&gt;&lt;div style="clear:both;"&gt;&lt;/div&gt;
