&lt;span&gt;In news that may interest wireless communication device manufacturers, exports of IT products in South Korea jumped by 5.6 per cent in April from the same month last year to $13.3 billion on the strength of rising shipments of smartphones.&lt;/span&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;span&gt;According to the Ministry of Knowledge Economy, IT exports continued an upward trend for a 19th consecutive month since October 2009.&lt;/span&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;span&gt;Indeed, the figure exceeded $13 billion for&amp;nbsp;a second month in a row.&lt;/span&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;span&gt;Further to this, mobile phones saw their exports rise 32 per cent to $2.32 billion, of which $1.11 billion were smartphones. This is an increase of 459 per cent from a year ago.&lt;/span&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;span&gt;In other news, Sony Ericsson has unveiled the Xperia Mini and Xperia Mini Pro smartphones in London.&lt;/span&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;span&gt;Both devices run Android 2.3 and are powered by a 1GHz Snapdragon processor.&lt;/span&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;span&gt;The manufacturer observed the main goal with the Xperia family of phones &amp;amp;quot;is to offer the most entertaining smartphones, and to do that with choice&amp;amp;quot;.&lt;/span&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;span&gt;Posted by Andre Dixon&lt;/span&gt;&lt;a href="http://feeds.directnews.co.uk/feedtrack/justcopyright.gif?feedid=1785&amp;amp;itemid=800525178"&gt;&lt;img alt="ADNFCR-1785-ID-800525178-ADNFCR" src="http://feeds.directnews.co.uk/feedtrack/justcopyright.gif?feedid=1785&amp;amp;itemid=800525178" /&gt;&lt;/a&gt;&lt;div style="clear:both;"&gt;&lt;/div&gt;
