&lt;span&gt;Wireless communication device users will be interested to hear that the Wi-Fi equipment market is expected to see more than nine per cent compound annual growth rate (CAGR) from 2011 to 2016.&lt;/span&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;span&gt;This is according to research conducted by ABI Research, which said that the enterprise segment will contribute the bulk of the growth at more than 21 per cent CAGR.&lt;/span&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;span&gt;&amp;amp;quot;In volume shipment terms, the consumer segment is forecast to see more than 112 million units by 2016, representing more than 63 per cent growth over 2010,&amp;amp;quot; commented Peter Cooney, semiconductors practice director at ABI Research.&lt;/span&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;span&gt;The growth rate of the Wi-Fi equipment market was slow in 2009 due to the unhealthy economy, ABI Research explained. However, the market saw strong growth in the last two quarters of last year.&lt;/span&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;span&gt;In other news, Motorola has announced that the world&amp;amp;#39;s first combined laptop and phone is to go on sale on Orange in early May, for £35 per month.&lt;/span&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;span&gt;It has been confirmed that the Atrix smartphone will be available from May on Orange for free with a £35 per month contract.&lt;/span&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;span&gt;The Google Android-powered smartphone comes with a range of accessories and docks.&amp;nbsp;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;a href="http://feeds.directnews.co.uk/feedtrack/justcopyright.gif?feedid=1785&amp;amp;itemid=800514029"&gt;&lt;img alt="ADNFCR-1785-ID-800514029-ADNFCR" src="http://feeds.directnews.co.uk/feedtrack/justcopyright.gif?feedid=1785&amp;amp;itemid=800514029" /&gt;&lt;/a&gt;&lt;div style="clear:both;"&gt;&lt;/div&gt;
