&lt;span&gt;A technology expert has claimed that location-aware applications pushed to tablet and smartphone users are critical to the future success of the mobile market, wireless communication device manufacturers may be interested to learn.&lt;/span&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;span&gt;Adobe chief technology officer Kevin Lynch showcased an example of the technology, dubbed &amp;amp;#39;Apps Around You&amp;amp;#39;, on a Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 tablet at the Open Mobile Media summit in London last week.&lt;/span&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;span&gt;The Galaxy Tab 10.1 tablet received notifications of relevant applications about museums and restaurants, v3.co.uk has reported.&lt;/span&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;span&gt;&amp;amp;quot;This is a vision piece about where we could be heading with applications that could be useful as you move around, and it&amp;amp;#39;s going to get radically better in the future,&amp;amp;quot; he explained.&lt;/span&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;span&gt;Meanwhile, a new survey has revealed that the number of US smartphone users averaged 74.6 million from February through April.&lt;/span&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;span&gt;This is, Comscore explained, a 13 per cent rise from the previous three months.
