New Symbian-powered Nokia devices leaked

Nokia is to continue developing smartphones powered by the Symbian operating system, despite its high-profile tie-up with Microsoft.

It has been widely reported that the forthcoming Nokia N5 will run the Symbian system and industry publication T3 has claimed there will be more devices on the way.

According to the news provider, Nokia's N500, N600, N700 and N701 have all been spotted in leaked company documents, which showed that an updated version of Symbian is likely to be in operation.

"The 'affordable, reliable and fast' N500, codenamed Fate, kicks off proceedings, with a five megapixel (MP) snapper and a snappy 1GHz processor. The N600, also dubbed Cindy, will tote a 3.2-inch screen with a 1GHz processor, a similar 5MP snapper and NFC smarts," the magazine explained.

"But it's the N700 (Helen) and N701 (Zeta) that are likely to set tongues wagging. The latter, with a 3.5-inch AMOLED panel, 8MP camera and 1GHz processor, it looks like being Espoo's slickest phone ever. The N700 takes things down a notch with a 3.2-inch screen, but will be the thinnest smartphone in the world according to leaked marketing material."
