&lt;span&gt;More Americans than ever will buy tablet computers and smartphones, wireless communication device manufacturers may be interested to learn.&lt;/span&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;span&gt;A forecast from the US trade group Consumer Electronics Association (CEA) has claimed that this will push consumer electronics revenue up 5.6 per cent to $190 billion (£119 billion) in 2011.&lt;/span&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;span&gt;Sales in the US of tablet computers will reach 26.5 million units, creating $14 billion in revenue, the CEA confirmed.&lt;/span&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;span&gt;Smartphone purchases, meanwhile, will increase by 45 per cent to $23 billion, wireless communication device users may be interested to learn.&lt;/span&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;span&gt;&amp;amp;quot;One year ago, tablets were a new and unproven market.
