&lt;span&gt;Wireless communication device manufacturer HTC is likely to see its sales revenue surge to hit a record high in the third quarter of 2011.&lt;/span&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;span&gt;This is according to HTC&amp;amp;#39;S chief executive Peter Chou, who suggested that his firm is set to launch six to eight new models in the third quarter.&lt;/span&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;span&gt;The firm recently reported its smartphone sales of 12.11 million units for the second quarter of 2011, a 25 per cent rise from a quarter earlier.&lt;/span&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;span&gt;Mr Chou explained that this exceeded its original projection of between 11 million and 11.5 million units to hit a new high, cens.com has reported.&lt;/span&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;span&gt;Meanwhile, Colm Bracken, group search manager at Microsoft, claimed recently that the number of people using their smartphone to surf the web is increasing at a significant rate.&lt;/span&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;span&gt;He observed that increasing numbers of consumers are browsing the internet via mobile devices, adding that this growth is being driven by the uptake of smartphones.&lt;/span&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;span&gt;Posted by Andre Dixon&lt;/span&gt;&lt;a href="http://feeds.directnews.co.uk/feedtrack/justcopyright.gif?feedid=1785&amp;amp;itemid=800683424"&gt;&lt;img alt="ADNFCR-1785-ID-800683424-ADNFCR" src="http://feeds.directnews.co.uk/feedtrack/justcopyright.gif?feedid=1785&amp;amp;itemid=800683424" /&gt;&lt;/a&gt;&lt;div style="clear:both;"&gt;&lt;/div&gt;
