Former Apple chief hailed as 'probably the best' company boss in a century

Former Apple chief executive Steve Jobs was "probably the best" company boss in 50 or 100 years.

This is according to Google chairman Eric Schmidt, a former Apple board member, who made the statement in an interview at a technology conference.

Mr Jobs, he explained, deserved the praise because he built Apple into a powerful corporation twice, wireless communication device users will be interested to learn.

Due to ongoing health problems, Mr Jobs resigned as Apple chief executive on August 24th, though he continues to serve as the company's chairman.

This was not Mr Jobs' first resignation from the Apple corporation, however. Indeed, he left his position at the company in 1985 following a boardroom battle.

But in 1997, Mr Jobs returned as chief executive, helping to launch the iMac range of personal computers.

He has also been influential in developing a range of other Apple products in recent years, including the iPod, iPad and iPhone.
