Wireless communication device users in India will soon have to cope with a limit to the number of text messages they are able to send.

Officials at the Indian telecommunications regulator has confirmed that the new rules will mean that no-one will be able to exceed the limits of more than 100 texts a day.

Although to UK wireless communication device users the measures may seem somewhat drastic, it is likely to come as a relief to mobile phone users in India, who have to contend with dozens of unsolicited text messages every day.

Allied to this, the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India also announced that it has barred commercial calls or messages between 09:00 and 21:00.

Meanwhile, TalkTalk was recently revealed to be the most complained about provider of broadband and phone services.

Ofcom confirmed that TalkTalk was subject to most complaints, while Virgin attracted the fewest. Despite this, the regulator observed that TalkTalk had got better since its last report.

Posted by Andre Dixon
