Google seeks to help start-up firms in London

Search engine giant Google has announced that it has signed a ten-year lease on a building in London's Tech City, where it will work with start-up companies.

According to Google, this deal represents the first stage in its commitment to support the Tech City start-up community, wireless communication device users may wish to know.

David Singleton, engineering director at Google UK, commented: "Finding a suitable building is the first major step, and we hope to announce more details about the organisations we'll work with and how they will use the space in the coming months."

He added: "East London is already home to hundreds of innovative British start-ups, and has huge potential for economic growth and new jobs over the coming years."

Meanwhile, chancellor George Osborne also welcomed the development, calling it "great news".

Indeed, he said that the UK can create the right environment to "attract start-ups and established high-technology businesses".
