Windows Phone 7.5 mobile made available free to existing Microsoft users

Microsoft's new operating system, Windows Phone 7.5 mobile, is now available free to existing users, wireless communication device owners may wish to know.

The new system, codenamed Mango, features enhanced social network contact as well as improved enhanced multitasking.

Tony Cripps, principal analyst at Ovum, the technology research firm, observed: "Mango will provide a worthwhile upgrade for both existing and new users of Windows Phone devices once it arrives in the autumn.

"However," he added, "Microsoft needs to do better if it is to persuade the market that it has the most user friendly - and desirable - mobile platform in the market today."

Earlier this week, research revealed that Google Android smartphones have become the most popular device on the market over the last six months.

In spite of this, analysts Nielsen found that iPhone users are likelier to be "highly satisfied" with their device (86 per cent) than the average wireless communications device owner (72 per cent).
