Blackberry users have complained of another crash hours a matter hours after the devices manufacturer, Research In Motion (RIM), claimed that all services were "operating normally".

On Monday (October 10th), the blackout saw Blackberry services across Europe, the Middle East and Africa disrupted.

Now, however, the problem has spread to Latin America, with RIM revealing that the problems were caused by core and back-up switch failures.

"Although the system is designed to failover to a back-up switch, the failover did not function as previously tested,” a company spokesman explained to wireless communication device users and others.

"As a result, a large backlog of data was generated and we are now working to clear that backlog and restore normal service as quickly as possible."

Elsewhere, Samsung has offered to remove some features from its Galaxy Tab 10.1 in a bid to overturn a court-imposed sales ban in Australia.

The ban was introduced after Apple complained about an infringement on some of its patents.

Posted by Andre Dixon
