I'd like to see a new tradition on element14 community of passing on any roadtest or other products that you have finished with.

We've seen some good 'gift' giving by some who have no further need already, but it would be nice if it extended further.

I remember as a child, the men who pumped gasoline at the gas station would carry one of these on their belt:

If money was as widely used now as it was then, a neat project would be to hook up a microcontroller and solenoids to count out the change automatically. Of course, they have similar things in stores today, but I've not seen someone carry one on their belt!

I would like the rest of the world to follow our lead in mobile money transfer (mpesa) which lets us deposit, transfer, withdraw, or pay for goods/bills from any phone - "smart" or otherwise. Every street corner has an mpesa agent - over 100,000 across the country. Makes it very easy to send hong bao (but without the red envelope).

The picture of the little kid with the envelope reminds me of the wedding scene from the Godfather. I would love to see this become more acceptable because like you I hate shopping.

A simple rewards machine for my kids. It would give out a coin for things like going to the bathroom(Youngest still learning), picking up toys, listening to parents(Pay back from when i was a kid!). The coins could then be traded back in for candy, money, gaming time (xbox, ps, tablet).
