I wish to make a customized water heater. Actually in winters, whenever my Mom washes dishes with supply (cold) water, all her fingers swells. We had water heater but that keeps water hot to the boiling point. There might be market available solutions but I wish to make one by myself in which I can set temperature according to her needs. I will definitely working on this before winter hits this time.
Second thing is I wish to make a coffee machine which makes coffee direct from coffee beans.

This is a South Indian food called Dosa/Dosai, my favourite food whenever I go out for eating. This is one of the generic breakfast food here in South India, we do cook smaller sizes in home. In restaurants, you can see quite a big size, even upto 10 feet in special occasions.

My idea is to 3D print images on it, like 3D printed pancakes... If I have enough money I could start a business here to sell 3D Dosa printer to home and restaurants.

A neat project would be to interface a load sensor and make a scale. Scales can be very helpful in the kitchen.

I'm still hoping to one day get my pancake-a-nator up and running so I can have pancakes, all day every day, anytime of day or night when I have a craving.

So far the robot arm is functional and can pick up a candy bar. So that's something.

Before going back and getting my degree, I spent 9 years in the food service industry. Everything from flipping eggs at 5:00am to four star presentation work. These days, food for me is just something to keep me going.

Just wondering... Has anyone gotten into "programming mode" when you start work on a particularly intense section of code then when you look up at the clock, you notice eight or nine hours have elapsed, and you haven't gotten up from your desk? Side effects of this behavior are also debugging while no code is in front of you, or waking up at 3:00am with the solution to a bug that has been lurking in the background.

It's pretty simple, but I just have a 7" android tablet stuck to a cupboard. Which helps when cooking for recipes, guiding videos, etc.

This technology already exists but i want a 3d printer pizza maker. Not only do i love pizza I'm also a huge 3d printer enthusiast. Combines both worlds!

The big disadvantage of wood-burning cooking stoves is controllability - so my idea to solve this would be a system powered by a peltier module, sensing temperature at the base of a pan, and increasing (by a fan) or reducing the secondary air input. A small piezo buzzer could alert the cook (chef?) to add more wood where the desired temperature is above that which maximum secondary air can achieve. The same principle could also be applied to a wood-burning oven so that bread/cake making is more predictable.

The only thing that can really be a breakthrough in kitchens is a robot that cooks and cleans the kitchen top. There are robot bartenders but no really great cook robots yet.
